Beryl Walper died peacefully at Poplar Courts Nursing Home in Wilkie, SK, on May 3, 2016 at the age of 92. Beryl was born at Lemburg, SK, on April 16, 1924 to Malcolm and Bernice Haver, the second of seven children. She obtained all of her schooling at Saskatoon including her nursing degree at U of S, completing her RN at City Hospital in 1946. She married Lorne Walper of Laura on September 11, 1948 and took on the challenge of farm-wife and home-maker. Beryl was involved in Eastern Star and Flying Farmers; she was a plant lover, a crafter and pie-maker. Mom generously cared for her family, as well as for her patients; and she was a great supporter of the family farm. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her five children: Marilee (Don Goodall, deceased), Brenda (Bill Bossence), Scott (Debi), Janine (Dann Shipman) and Dan (Margo Kirstinger); 19 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Beryl is also survived by her sister, Phyllis (Jack) Cryderman, her brother, Dr. Jack Haver and her sister-in-law Shirley (Lawrence Fay). She was predeceased by her husband Lorne (1991), her son-in-law Don (2010) and her siblings, Cecil (Martha), Lee Phipps, Joyce (Manny) Fossum and Robert. Donations may be made to The Lung Association of Saskatchewan. Service of Remembrance will be held at Delisle United Church on Tuesday, May 10th at 2:00 with Linda Emberley officiating. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Outlook Funeral Chapel, 321 Selkirk Street, Box 8, Outlook, S0L 2N0 (306-867-8255).
