Roache, Herman Ellsworth-101, Queens Manor, Liverpool, formerly of Lockeport, passed away in Queens Manor on May 16, 2016. Born in West Head he was a son of the late Leonard and Ada (Townsend) Roache. Herman was a fisherman for most of his working life. In 1969 he went to Ontario and worked in a milk plant for 10 years. He returned home to Lockeport in 2007 and due to ill health went to Queens Manor where he resided until his death. Herman was a published poet and a notorious story teller. His hobby was building model boats from wood. He is survived by sons, Richard (Helen); Ellsworth (Brenda); Cyril (Donna); daughters, Audrey (George); Muriel and Verna; sister, Lorraine (Albert) Townsend; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren ; several great-great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn; son, Merrill; grandson, Richard Williams, brothers, Eugene, Mervin, Edwin, Keith and Ernie; sisters, Edith and Elaine; son-in-law, Noel Williams. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 18 from 7-9 P.M. in H.M. Huskilson`s Funeral Home Lockeport where the funeral service will take place on Thursday at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Tim Garren officiating. Burial in Lockeport Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Lockeport Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Queens Manor for their dedication and compassionate care, making Dad’s stay so pleasurable.
