MACLEAN, Linda Amelia (Antonello)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, Linda, age 101, on May 20, 2016 at Harbourstone Enhanced Care facility (Spanish Bay).
Born in Donkin on March 5, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Roma Antonello. She lived most of her life in Donkin where she raised a family with her husband, Ronald.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ronald; brother, Enso and two older siblings who died in childhood in their native Italy before her parents immigrated to Canada.
Surviving are her son, Louis (Mary), Glace Bay; daughter, Anne (Lonnie), Donkin; sister, Ebbie MacDougall, also of Harbourstone; brother, Mel, Ottawa; granddaughters, Sheryl, Rome, Italy and Heather (Chris) Kempfer, North Carolina; her cousin, Enso (Gerry) Antonello; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and at her request there will be no visitation. Interment next to her husband will take place at a later date.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at the home of Louis and Mary MacLean, 22 George St., Glace Bay on Saturday, June 4 from 2-6 p.m.
The family would like to thank County Home Care, the VON and many friends, who helped look after mom throughout the past few years as her needs increased. A special thanks goes out to the staff and residents of Spanish Bay for their exceptional care, understanding and friendship. She truly appreciated her new home with you and your genuine love, compassion and humour.
Thank you
To all of you, in her own words, “Good-day Effie!”

“Goodbyes are only for those
who love with their eyes;
because for those who love
with their heart and soul,
There is no such thing as separation.”
