GOUDEY, Carl Stewart – age 66 of Brazil Lake, Yarmouth Co., NS passed away unexpectedly on May 25, 2016 doing what he loved. Born in Pleasant Valley, Yarmouth County he was the son of Ruth (Prime) Goudey and the late Jess Goudey. Carl was known as an extremely hard worker who worked for ACL Construction, Dexter Construction and most recently Brazil Lake Enterprises. His passion was working in the dirt and driving anything with an engine such as excavators, dump trucks or any heavy equipment. His pride and joy was his junk yard which he brought home many treasures over the years. In his spare time he was known to have a green thumb growing cucumbers and other vegetables. Carl is survived by his loving wife Jean Marie (Noland) Goudey; mother, Ruth Goudey; daughter, Kim (Tony) Brittain, Forest Glen; son, Karl (Sherry) Goudey, Camrose, Alberta; brother, Gary (Vivian) Goudey, Hebron; sister, Carol (Dudley) Saulnier, Pleasant Valley; step children, Jean “Jeanie” (Steven) Fizer, Virginia; Cathy (Anthony) Nickerson, Melbourne; Arthur (Laura) Hall, Pleasant Valley; grandchildren, Trevor and Candice Brittain, Ryan and Brandon Goudey; 10 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Besides his father, Carl was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Deveau. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation was held Sunday May 29, 2016 from 7-9 P.M. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service was held Monday May 30, 2016 at 2 p.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Kevin Myers officiated. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation.
