It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dad and papa, Winston ‘Windy’ MacDonald, 74, of East Broadway, Whitney Pier on Thursday, May 26, 2016.
Born in Whitney Pier, he was a son of the late Frank and Christena (Patterson) MacDonald.
In his younger years, Windy worked as a labourer at Miller & Huges and then as an auto body technician. Always a motor vehicle enthusiast, he was always looking for and would never pass up a good deal at auctions or wherever one may arise.
He is survived by his son, Winston Jr. (Natalie), Sydney; grandchildren, CJ (Jules), Mikayla, Brittney and Madison; great-grandchildren, Willow Rose and Emerson Winston; longtime companion, Sharon V. MacDonald, as well as her family, Kevin (Janet), Kenny (Debbie), Keith (Shauna) and grandchildren, Kelly, Reanna, Kenzie, Kyler and Gracie. He will be missed by his furry best friend and companion, Sheba.
Windy was predeceased by his wife, Edith Ann (MacCormick) MacDonald; son, Trevor G. MacDonald and brothers, Cyril, Neillie and Frank.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday 11 a.m., with Rev. Robert Lyle officiating. Interment in Eastmount Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
