Passed peacefully away at Masonic Park Nursing Home on Sunday, June 26, 2016, with her loving family by her side, Elizabeth "Liz" Dillon of St. Mary's in her 100th year. Predeceased by her husband Michael (1998); sons: Jim, Michael, Gerard; daughter Irene; twin grandsons: Paul and Michael Morrow; brother Patrick (Pad) Breen (1st wife, Kitty; 2nd wife, Mary Ellen); sisters: Catherine Breen (Joseph), Mary Ralston (Edward), Ida Molloy (Vincent); sons-in-law: Jim Chambers, Keith Perry; brother-in-law Johnnie Dillon; sisters-in-law: Christine Critch (William), Nora Lawless (George), Sadie Dillon; and special nephew Sam Breen. Left to mourn, sons: Joe (Madonna McCrate), St. Mary's, Desmond (Jeanne Brown), Gander, Jerome (Joyce Shears), St. John's, George (Angela Kearney), St. Mary's, Charlie (Janet Rumsey), St. Mary's, Ronnie (Patsy Cahill), St. Mary's; daughters: Joan Chambers, Goose Bay, Sarah "Sadie" Perry, St. John's, Mona Morrow (Greg), Paradise, Eleanor "Chickie" McMillan, Winnipeg; daughter-in-law Gen Dillon, Wabush; 28 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; special nephews Jim Murray and Jim Critch and countless nephews, nieces, cousins and lifelong friends. A special thank you is extended to caregivers, Paul and Elaine Neville and the staffs of Neville's Personal Care Home, St Mary's, Tobin's Guest Home, Holyrood and Masonic Park Nursing Home, Mount Pearl. Resting at Gibbons' Funeral Home, St. Mary's, on Tuesday, June 28, from 2-4 pm; 7-9 pm and Wednesday, June 29, 10-12 noon; 2-4 pm; 7-9 pm (No visitation on Thursday). A celebration of the long, wonderful life of this remarkable lady and Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, June 30, 2016, at 10 am, at Our Lady of Assumption Church, St. Mary's. Burial to follow. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Janeway Children's Hospital Foundation, The Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of one's choice.
