It is with great sadness that the family of the late Elva Byrne announce her passing at the Palliative Care Unit, Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Thursday, June 30th, 2016 at the age of 77 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her loving husband of 61 wonderful years, Thomas Byrne; children: Marie Park, Rita (Brian) Barnes, Wavey (Carl) Sheppard, Derek (Loreina) Byrne, Glen (Laura) Byrne and Molly Byrne; grandchildren: Aden and Stacy Park, Justin and Susan Barnes, Jennifer Gallant, Carla Sheppard, Maria and Miranda Byrne, Victoria, Jessica and Thomas Byrne and Jonathan Wheeler; as well 17 great-grandchildren that she loved dearly; siblings: Calvin (Nina) Murrin, Doreen (Wilfred) Payne and Susie Best; in-laws: Doreen Murrin, Amy Murrin, David Byrne, Masie Kendell, Annie (Doug) Duffney, Hazel (Ron) Weibe, Lynn (Harian) Cross, Leo (Marie) Byrne, Kathleen (Eric) Sheppard, Benjamin (Cathy) Byrne, Gord (Colleen) Byrne, Doris Byrne, and Dorothy Byrne; special nephew Bois Murrin, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents: William and Alice Murrin; in-laws Mark and Margaret Byrne; son Brian Byrne; daughter: Kay Byrne; sisters: Mary (Earl) Warren, Lillian (Bill) Robinson; brothers: Murdock, Crawford, Kenneth and Roland (Annie) Murrin; son-in-law: Derek Park, brothers-in-law: Gerard Byrne, Ivan Byrne, Brian Byrne and Henry Kendell; sister-in-law: Shirley Byrne. In Keeping with Elva's wishes cremation has taken place. A huge thank you to all the doctors and nurses at the Palliative Care Unit. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to St. James Anglican Church in Lark Harbour or to the Palliative Care Unit WMRH. Interment will take place at a later date. No Service at this time.
