Donald Harold “Donnie” Warner – 76, of New Minas, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016 in the VG Site - QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in St. Croix, Hants County, he was a son of the late Harold and Margaret (DeMont) Warner. Donnie was employed with security at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor and most recently with the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, from where he retired. Donnie was well-known throughout the Bluegrass community for many years as an accomplished fiddle player. He was a devout Christian and enjoyed drawing and sketching. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Pamela (Leslie); a daughter, Valerie (Alan) Lantz, Windsor; a son, Randy (Tena) Warner, Hantsport; a step-daughter, Robin (Craig) Armitage, Hilden; a step-son, Greg (Jen) Armitage, Truro; a sister, Beryl Robinson, Halifax; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Peggy Warner. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 25, 2016 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Leon Langille officiating. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
