Lorraine McMULLIN

McMULLIN, M. Lorraine
Pictou

It is with profound sadness that the family of Margaret Lorraine McMullin announces her death on August 29, 2016. Lorraine, born on February 15, 1936 in Glace Bay, was the youngest child of Mary Elizabeth (Corbett) and Simon Blowers Dauphinee. Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Cathy and son, Michael and her grandchildren, Kate Prest (Colin Grant), Halifax; and Scott MacKinnon, Edmonton. Also surviving her are her sister, Anita Mahe, Hamilton; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Michael and infant son, Peter; her parents; sisters, Olive and Kathleen; and brothers, Omar and John.
Lorraine was a loving mother and grandmother and was known to many as “Gran”. Her love of life was inspiring as she had a warm heart and a wonderful sense of humour. Her friends would say she had “purity of heart, mind, and soul.” She was an accomplished pianist and a vocal member of Stella Maris Church Choir, Noteable Friends and The Harmonizers. In addition, she was an original member of the acclaimed MacDougall Girls’ Pipe Band from Dominion, NS.
She thoroughly enjoyed her card club and boating friends, but most of all her family. While she loved her adopted home of Pictou, she cherished her Cape Breton heritage. Lorraine was dearly loved by everyone who knew her and will be deeply missed. Visitation will be Friday, September 2, from 6-8 PM in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will be 10 AM Saturday, September 3 from Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church in Pictou. Donations in memory of Lorraine may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Pictou.
