Johnson, Jessie Rosann, age 90, of Kentville, Kings County, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, surrounded by her large family at her home. Born on December 1, 1925, in Three Mile Plains, Hants County, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Maude (States) Hamilton. Jessie was a homemaker, and enjoyed dancing, nights at the legion, caring on, laughing, and was a happy caring person. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her. Jessie is survived by her sons, Bruce “Mansey” Hamilton, Newport Station; Roland Johnson Jr. (Annie), Montreal, PQ; Cecil (Linda) Johnson, Newport Station; Ernest (Annette) Johnson, Toronto, Ont.; daughters, Catherine Dulall, Toronto, Ont.; Charlene Johnson (Wayne Baker), Digby; Cheree Johnson (Neil Varner), Kentville; Phyllis Johnson, Montreal, PQ; Susan (James “Jake”) States, Newport Station; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Jessie is also survived by sisters, Lotricia “Tessie” Chambers, Boston, Mass.; Yvonne “Dimples” (Freddie) States, Newport Station; Patricia (Hugh) Blake, Toronto, Ont.; Betty Hamilton, Toronto, Ont.; brothers, Amos Hamilton, Montreal, PQ; Eugene (Carol) Hamilton, Toronto, Ont. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Roland St. Clair Johnson; son, Andrew Johnson; daughter, Rosie Johnson; brothers, James Hamilton and June Hamilton; sister, Dela “Dolly” States. Visitation was 6-9 p.m. Monday, September 19, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home (902-798-2232), 194 King Street, P.O. Box 2218, Windsor, NS, B0N 2T0.
