Hatfield, Emily Elizabeth- age 77, of The Meadows Home for Special Care in Yarmouth., N.S. passed away on September 11th, 2016 at The Meadows. Born in Pleasant Lake on November 27th 1938 she was the youngest daughter of the late Harvey and Gladys (Wyman) Jeffery. Emily had been a member of the Pleasant Lake Baptist Church since her teens where she sang in the choir. She is survived by her brothers; Kenneth (Winnie), Pleasant Lake, Heber (Eileen), Arcadia, Sisters; Phyllis Hopkins, Pleasant Lake, Clara (Arnold) Goodwin, Yarmouth and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Gordon, Brothers; Morse and Lindsay; sister in law Marjorie and brother in law Charlie Hopkins. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation has taken place on Wednesday September 14, 2016 from 1-2 p.m. from Sweenys Funeral Home Chapel where a funeral followed at 2 p.m. with Rev. Donald Moses officiating. Interment followed in the Highland Plans Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory may be made to a fund set up at Sweeny’s Funeral Home to assist the family with expenses.
