Steven Paul Patterson - 26, of Cheverie, Hants County, formerly of Berwick, Kings County, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2016 in the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax as the result of a motor vehicle accident. Born in Berwick, he was a son of Kelly (Arenburg) Patterson (Shawn Buchan) and Floyd (Val) Patterson. Steven enjoyed being a truck driver. He was kind hearted and loved the outdoors, especially fishing. He also had a great passion for how things used to be as opposed to how they are now, with regard to machinery. In addition to his parents, Kelly and Floyd, he is survived by a brother, Ryan Patterson, Berwick; Steven’s girlfriend, Angela Walsh; maternal grandmother, Maureen Rood, Coldbrook; an uncle, Darren (Kunlaya) Arenburg, Thailand; an aunt, Elaine Burke, Edmonton, Alberta; an uncle, Kevin Arenburg, Vancouver, British Columbia; numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his step-father, Brian Balcom; maternal grandfather, Paul Arenburg; paternal grandparents, Cyril and Marion Patterson. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Monday, September 19, 2016 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2016 in the Berwick United Church, Reverend Ivan Norton officiating. A private family burial took place in the Berwick Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the QEII Health Sciences Centre Unit 5.2. Steven thought he was ten feet tall and bullet proof, but his heart was even bigger; and he always shared it with those who needed it most.
