Jeannine Louise Meehan, age 68, of Mantua, Hants County, passed away peacefully with her family at her side, in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, after a short battle with cancer on Saturday, September 17, 2016. She is survived by her loving family: her husband, Raymond Richard Meehan; sons, Tony (Darlene), Poplar Grove; and Shane (Leanne), Mantua; brother, Harvey Bowser Jr., Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, Brendan, Richard, Kathleen, and Markus; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by parents, Harvey Walkington Bowser and Alice Monique (Bourque) Bowser. She was a graduate of Secretary College from C.E.C. Truro, and an honours student from the International Correspondence School with a diploma of highest honours, specializing in Dress Making and Design. After this, she became an avid seamstress, to which she eventually opened her own business Buy the Yard Fabrics, where she specialized in alterations. She was an active volunteer in every community she lived in. She had many hobbies ranging from anything artistic such as knitting and gardening to enjoying old films and music. Born in Tufts Cove, Dartmouth, she grew up moving to various places such as Kitchener, Ont.; Fairview, Port Howe, Enfield, and Amherst. She was a very dedicated family member, where she always made a point of being surrounded by ones who loved her dearly and cared about her unconditionally. The surviving members of her family would like to thank the Hants Community Hospital Palliative Care Unit for their continued efforts and support. Donations in memory of Jeannine can be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Hants Community Hospital. A celebration of her life was 2 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2016, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home (902-798-2232), 194 King Street, P.O. Box 2218, Windsor, B0N 2T0.
