Carolyn Frances Lindsay – 74, of Grand View Manor, Berwick, formerly of Kentville and Halifax, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 10, 2016 in Grand View Manor. Born in Kentville on October 3, 1942, she was the eldest daughter of the late Hugh Cameron "H.C." and Frances Bertha (Young) Lindsay. She attended Kings County Academy and graduated from Acadia University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She later graduated from the Provincial Teachers College. Carolyn taught school in Port Maitland and Avonport and later attended Kings Regional Vocational School (NSCC Kingstec Campus) graduating from the business program. She moved to Halifax and was employed with Dalhousie University, Morse’s Tea, until it closed and Ben’s Bakery until she retired. She loved to travel and worked one summer at Lake Louise, Alberta. She toured the British Isles and Norway. She was a devoted Christian and graciously supported the Atlantic Baptist Convention. She traveled to Ecuador to visit and to support the World Vision Mission. For the past 12 years she was a resident of Grand View Manor and this became her home and family. She is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth "Libby" (Peter) Goucher, Wolfville and Penelope "Penny" (Cyril) White, Kentville; four nephews, Matthew, Drew, Jeffrey and Gregory; eight great nieces and nephews, Zachery, Kieran, Cameron, Aria, Laura, Cameron, Emma and Connor. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a niece, Nancy Chittick. Cremation and a private family interment have taken place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2016 in Grand View Manor, Reverend Doctor Judith Saunders, Reverend Elizabeth Johnson and Reverend Sarah Scott will officiate. Donations in memory may be made to Grand View Manor or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
