Clara Chochrane (nee Hynes)

Born: December 17th, 1949

Passed on: October 19th, 2016

After a courageous battle with cancer, Clara passed into the arms of the angels surrounded by her loving and devoted family. Clara Cochrane, age 66 of Dunville, Placentia (formerly of Presque, PB.). Clara is predeceased by her parents Jim and Madonna Hynes (nee McCue), parents-in-law Maurice and Mary Cochrane (nee Ryan), and brothers-in-law Thomas Lake and Arch Moores. Left to cherish her memory, her husband of nearly 50 years Maurice Cochrane. Maurice was her quiet strength, faithfully by her side through good times and bad. He was her soulmate and her best friend. Four devoted and amazing children and five very special grandchildren who were the light of her life: Marilyn Mooney (George) and Nicholas, Terry (Bridget) and Tyler, Brian (Denise) and Victoria, Madonna Wakeham (Sean) and Shawna and Stephanie. She will also be remembered and cherished by her brothers John Hynes (Stella), Jim Hynes (Una), Patrick Hynes (Alice Connors) and her sister Marie Mary Collins (Aloysius); sisters-in-law Stella Lake (Vince Collins) and Rosemary Moores; all her nieces and nephews as well as a large circle of friends and co-workers. The family was very fortunate to be surrounded by a wonderful group of friends whose support sustained them through this difficult time. Special recognition to her children Terry, Brian, and Madonna who traveled many miles, numerous times to be with their mother during the past 10 months. Also daughter Marilyn and her NL family for their constant dedication and support. Marilyn was the wind beneath her wings and rock of support and comfort for the whole family. Clara was a loving wife, dutiful daughter, a proud mother and grandmother. She was a woman of extreme strength and courage who worked hard to make a comfortable, welcoming home for her family and friends. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the very professional staff at Placentia Health Centre for their exemplary care and compassion throughout her stay. Their thoughtfulness and kindness to the whole family was truly amazing. Special thanks to Dr. Robert Power, Dr. B. Mangat and their staff at Placentia Health Centre. Also Dr. Siddiqui and the staff at Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Clinic. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Maher's Funeral Home, Placentia. Visitation to take place on Thursday from 7pm to 9pm, and Friday from 12pm to 5pm and 7pm to 9pm.
