BLACK POINT/SIDNEY, B.C. – Helen Lily (Heather) Reid, 94, passed away peacefully, Thursday, October 13, 2016 in Sidney Care Home, Sidney, B.C.
Born in Thelma, Alta., she was a daughter of the late Ludwig and Katherine Heather.
Formerly from Black Point, Helen was a resident of Kimberley, B.C. and Thelma, Alta. and for the past 28 years, has made her home in Sidney, B.C.
Helen enjoyed a long and purposeful life; was well known on both sides of the country for her warm smile, sparkling blue eyes, positive outlook on life and her great cooking. She was an avid gardener and took great pleasure in caring for her family.  Her lifelong passion as an artist was expressed through her pastel and oil paintings.
She is survived and warmly remembered by sons, Sandy (Carolynn), New Glasgow; Rod, Sidney, B.C.; Jim (Cathy), Carroll’s Corner; John (Kay), Sidney, B.C.; daughter, Heather Fraser, New Glasgow. Sources of great pride were her eight grandchildren, Chris; Lisa; Jesse; Jenn; James; Dan; Zach; Jess and ten great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, S. Morton Reid; sisters, Ella Seefried; Mary Jans; Irene Holmstead; Dorothy Marple; a son in infancy; granddaughter, Angelina Elizabeth.
Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will be held at a future date.
