Walter Poulette of 121 Castle Bay Road, Eskasoni, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at home. Born in Eskasoni, he was the son of the late Stephen Poulette and Ann Madeline (Sylliboy) Poulette-Bernard.
Walter was a member of Holy Family parish, Eskasoni. He was well known for his wreath making and was a fisherman of gaspereau, known as (Kaspaleau). He was a ‘Jack of All Trades’, was involved in Cursillo Movement as a Curiesta, he loved cruising around, karaoke and visiting the casino. He is survived by his wife, Madeline ‘Sugar’; daughters, Cindy and Menia (Glen) Sylliboy; son, Terry; grandchildren, Walter Sean Ryan, Terrance, Patsy, Eliza, Joel and Tayvn; brothers, Ben (Bridget), Levi, David (Mildred), Howard, Maynard (Gina), special brother, Dr. Mohan Virick; sisters, Rosie Marshall, Martha Brooks, Nancy (Jr) Sylliboy; sisters-in-law, Joanne Poulette and Margaret; brother-in –law, Mike Paul; godchildren, Margaret Poulette, Pierre Gould, Stephen Francis, Stephen Paul, Michael Paul, Fred Knockwood, Paul Joe, Ann-Shelby, Piel Herney, Jack Edward Gould; aunt, Catherine Bernard and uncle, Ben Sylliboy.
Walter was predeceased by his daughters, Paula and Stella Marie; brothers, Charlie and Francis Poulette; sister, Elizabeth Paul and godchildren, Stephen, Delia and Gordon James. Visitation for Mr. Poulette will be on Thursday, October 27 after 5 p.m. at the family residence 121 Castle Bay Road, Eskasoni. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church with Rev. Martin MacDougall officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery, Eskasoni.
