Helen Lillian Clark

CLARK, Helen, Lillian - age 89 of Stewiacke, passed away peacefully in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre on October 25, 2016 with her loving family by her side. Born in Stewiacke on September 10, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Pearl (Helpard) Crawford. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Philip William Clark and her siblings; Dorothy, Joyce and Danny. She will be remembered with great fondness by her sons, Gerald (Cindy) Clark, Hay River, NT/Bedford, Chester (Elizabeth) Clark, Parrsboro and daughter Gail (Ken ”Joe”) Gray, Belleville ON; her nine grandchildren will miss her dearly, especially her wonderful hugs; Michelle (Jerry) deGraaf, Ryan (Amanda) Gray, Justin (Erin) Clark, Chelsey (Devry) Hymas, Jasmine (Josh) Clark, Kayleigh Bonner-Clark, Deidre Clark, Braedon (Caitie) Clark and Travis (Tara) Clark. Helen had the joy of spending time recently with the seven great grandchildren she adored; Payton, Cohen, Kayson, and Adalyn Hymas, Hailey, Nathan and William Gray. Helen is survived by her brothers; Roy Crawford, Stewiacke and Ernie (Louise) Crawford, Afton; sisters, Edna (Basil) Dean, Woodstock, ON, Edith Grant, Fredericton, NB and Gloria Crawford, Stewiacke; sister in-law Elizabeth Ettinger, Hardwoodlands. The family wants to extend a very special thanks to Mom’s sister, Gloria Crawford and true friend Shirley Smith for the many, many ways they have supported Mom over the past many years and in particular the past few months to allow her the independence and comfort for which she was truly grateful. As well we would like to give a special thanks to Kathy Bonner and the team who assisted Mom since her heart attack four months ago and to those who took care of her home on a weekly basis. Helen has been cremated and at her request there will be a Celebration of Life held 2 pm Saturday, October 29 in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, Pastor Tammy Giffen officiating. There will be no visitation and in lieu of flowers, Helen has requested that donations may be made to Stewiacke Baptist Church, 112 Main St. West, Stewiacke, NS B0N 2J0 or to a charity of choice.
