It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Myrtle O'Brien, age 63, of River Hebert on Monday, August 18, 2014.
Born in River Hebert East, she was a daughter of the late Wilfred and Hilda (McEachern) LeBlanc.
Myrtle was a happy person who enjoyed company. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and home cooked meals.
Myrtle is survived by her daughter Amanda (Kevin) Gower, River Hebert, 4 grandchildren, Andrew, Abigail, Melissa and Kale; sisters Donalda Cormier, Helen Richard, Iva Fowler, all of Amherst, Marion (Reginald) Daborn, River Hebert, Wilma (James) Quinn, Lower River Hebert; brothers James (Ruth), Wallace (Carmen), Paul (Cheryl) all of River Hebert East, Wilfred (Joyce) and Perry, River Hebert; Brother-in-laws Ezekiel Jr. (Janie) O'Brien, Larry "Archie" (Barb) O'Brien, John (Theda) O'Brien, Mike (Cheryl-Ann) O'Brien and Dave (Joyce) O'Brien; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Thomas, his parents Ezekiel Sr. and Eleanor O'Brien; son Timmy and brothers Lester and Douglas.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, Main St., River Hebert (902-251-2877) where visiting hours will take place on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 2 pm, from the Joggins United Church, Lynda MacCulloch officiating. Following the funeral, Myrtle's remains will be cremated and buried with her husband in the Hillside Cemetery, River Hebert.
