The death occurred peacefully at Souris Hospital on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, of Eric Wilfred Smith of Cable Head East, in his 84th year.
He was the beloved husband and companion of Joan (Hannouch), and dearest father of Greg (Suet Wan Tsang) of Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Eric is also survived by sister-in-law, Norma Hannouch, Charlottetown; brother-in-law, Richard Hameline, Plattsburg, N.Y.; sister-in-law, Janine Hannough, Montreal; numerous special nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Eunice Smith, Mount Stewart; brother, Douglas (Alberta) Smith, Toronto; sister, Lois Hameline, Cherry Hill; brother-in-law, Arnold Hannough; and sister-in-law, Laurice (Neil) MacKenzie.
There will be no visitation, by personal request. A private funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 1, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, St. Peter’s Bay, Prince Edward Island. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Parish Cemetery.
