BASTARACHE, NÉLIDA - Nélida Bastarache, 95, wife of the late Noël Bastarache (2001), of Moncton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, September 22, 2014, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born on September 22, 1919 in Bouctouche, she was the daughter of the late Gélas and Hélène (Collette) Richard. She will be sadly missed by her two daughters: Marie-Paule Doucet (Bill) and Thérèse Léger, both of Moncton; four grandchildren: Nancy Léger (Jeff), Nicole Caldwell (Andy), Kara LeBlanc (Jean-Paul) and Walter Léger (Joy); two great-grandchildren: Camryn Caldwell and Taylor LeBlanc; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by one son, Médard; one granddaughter, Michelle; two sisters: Sr Marie Lucie Richard, ndsc, and Lorraine Allain; two brothers: Lewis and Joffre.
By request, there will be no visitation at the funeral centre. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Roman Catholic Church, 824 Mountain Road, Moncton on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 11 am. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Nélida, a contribution to the CHU Dumont Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
