It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of Eddie Mah at home on Saturday, January 24, 2015.
Born in Sydney, Eddie was the son of the late John and Nora (Burke) Mah.
Eddie was a brick layer by trade and a devoted employee of the Sydney Steel Plant. He enjoyed darts, bowling and his Toronto Blue Jays.
Eddie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and the greatest love of his life was his family. There was nothing Eddie enjoyed more than providing much love and happiness to his close ones. He was a character of characters with a contagious laugh and knack for timely, witty responses.
Eddie will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially the Mah and MacDonald family.
Eddie is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Olive (MacDonald); his son, Ed (Julie); daughter, Crystal (Aaron); stepson, Shaun (Jennifer) DeLorey; grandchildren, Chauncey, Claire, Levi and Olivia; brother, Stanley (Rose) of Sydney; sister Rose (Tom) Evans of Sydney and sister Vange (Wally) Piercey of Niagara Falls; sister-in-law Marie Mah of Dartmouth and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces and in-laws.
Besides his parents, Eddie was predeceased by his brother Willie; sisters Anna Mah and Nellie MacKinnon and brother-in-law John MacKinnon.
Visitation will be held for Eddie on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m in the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home,564 Alexandra St., Sydney. Memorial service will be on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015 at 11 a.m in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of one’s choice.
