Leona Scott

Mrs. Leona Scott of Springhill passed away peacefully at her home in Mississauga with her family by her side on January 20, 2015.
Leona was born and raised in Springhill and the daughter of coal miner Charlie Taylor & wife of Jim Scott who served in both the 1956 and 1958 disasters. Predeceased by her beloved husband James 2004, brother Jake 1993, mother Juanita 1984 and son-in-law Roderick Waters 2011. Leona is survived by her sister Kathleen Dill of Toronto. Loving mother and mother-in-law to Bonnie Dumper, (Bob) Beverly Waters and Edwin Scott. Leona will be greatly and sadly missed by her grandchildren Tara, Shawn, Christoper, Kelly and great grandson James Tyler.
Leona is survived by her sister Kathleen Dill of Toronto.
Friends and family attended Leona's memorial service in Toronto on Sunday, January 25, 2015. The opening hymn was In the Garden by Anne Murray and closing song was Together Again by Buck Owens. Many thanks to those sent flowers and pledged donations in Leona's memory. Leona's internment will be held in late August of this year at Pinegrove Cemetery, Oxford.
