1928-2015
Passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family at the Health Sciences Centre on May 3rd, 2015, Marion Blanche Coates of Lewisporte, age 86 years. Predeceased by her parents, Edmund and Elizabeth Mitchell, brothers Archibald, Clarence, Kenneth and Oscar, sisters Enid Hue, Bernice Skinner and Dorothy Mitchell and her son in law Eric Noseworthy. Leaving to mourn with treasured memories are her husband Rev. Calvin Coates, her children Elizabeth Noseworthy, Jean (Randy) Cross, Don (Rose), Reginald (Norma), Denise (Eugene) Littlejohn, David (Shelley) and Carol (Michael) Keough, sister Louisa (Warrick Tucker), sisters in law, Florence Vanderburg and Nellie Coates, brothers in law, Samuel Skinner and Roy Coates, 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and a large number of nieces, nephews and friends. Her family wishes to express their thanks to Dr. Raj Brahmbhatt, and staff at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander for their care and support shown to Blanche. Also a sincere thank you to Harold and Sandra Hillier for their generosity and love and for sharing their home with us during Blanche's hospital stay in Gander. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses on 5SA of the Health Sciences Centre for their care and devotion to Blanche during her many stays. To the very dedicated and compassionate Dr. Amanda Scott, thank you for giving so generously of your time to Blanche's care. Visitation from Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Monday, May 4th and Tuesday, May 5th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Service will take place on Wednesday, May 6th at 2 pm, St. Augustine's Anglican Church, Westerland Road. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery on Kenmount Road. Honouring her love for her garden, flowers gratefully accepted, or donations may be made in her memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
