It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear husband, brother, uncle and friend, Morley Lahey, 53 at the An Cala Unit of CBRH on Monday, June 1, 2015.
Morley was the son of the late Philip and Catherine Lahey of Main-a-Dieu.
He was a fisherman by trade. Morley was known for his quick wit and sense of humour and loved to torment his nieces and nephews. He was a kind man, always willing to help others.
Morley enjoyed “driving around the loop” and visiting 666 Rosebush Lane with his brother Donald.
Morley is survived by his wife, Helen (Bussey); sisters, Edith (Harvey), Doris, June (Pius), Patricia (George), Lucy (John), Beatrice, Cissy (Mike) and Ruby (Bruce); brothers, Clem (Georgina), Donald (Janet), Wayne (Janice), Wallace (Frances), and Bomber (Dawn); sisters-in-law, Dawn Jane and Barb.
He will be sadly missed by his “special little buddy” Aaron and his furry friend Nellie.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Phyllis; brothers, Daniel Joseph in infancy, Stanley, Cyril, Roy and brothers-in-law, Lloyd and Piearce.
Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held Friday, June 5, 2015 from 1-3 p.m. at the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. A Celebration of Life to follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating. Reception to follow in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cape Breton Palliative Care Unit, CBRH or a charity of choice.
