Neil E. Henry
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Neil E. Henry, 68, of Lower Coverdale, at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital on Monday morning, July 6, 2015.
Born in Fredericton, Neil was the son of Thelma (Charters) Henry of Fredericton and the late Everett Henry.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Neil was a former salesperson and former owner/operator of Neil Henry Flooring. In past years, he was very much involved in hockey as an executive, coach and player. He was past President and past Vice President of the Riverview Minor Hockey Association, past Vice President of the Moncton Junior Hawkes Hockey Club and a former player with Crane Codiac Flyers Oldtimers Hockey Team.
Neil was very much an outdoors person who took great enjoyment puttering around the family home, socializing with his neighbors and spending quality time at the family cottage in Grand Lake with his family and his four legged companion, Brodie.
In addition to his mother, Thelma, Neil will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 47 years, Doris (Dorcas) Henry; precious son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Diane of Riverview; his special four-legged companion, Brodie; sister, Jean Lawrence of Fredericton; several nieces and one nephew.
In addition to his father, Neil was predeceased by his daughter, Heather (1978).
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Service to celebrate Neil’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 11:00 am. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
