Gerald Jardine

JARDINE, GERALD "JERRY"
May 12, 1950 - July 29, 2015
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald Wayne Jardine on July 29, 2015. Born in Fredericton, NB on May 12, 1950, he was the son of the late Colleen Jardine (Moore) and Robert Jardine.
He is survived by his loving wife, Coleen (Jones); son, Jomie (Michelle); step-daughter, Elizabeth Weston (John) Lower Coverdale and grandchildren, Jana, Cole and Matthew. He is also survived by siblings, Terry Jardine (Tina), Shelburn, Heather Matchett (Brad), Fort Saskatchewan, Joanne Jardine Penniac, Brad Jardine (Jenny Gibson), Fredericton, Cheryl Hay (Allan Whitney), Mactaquac; father-in-law, Ewen Jones will greatly miss Jerry’s humour. Jerry was well loved by aunts, Shirley Manderville, Eleanor Corning, Edith-Anne Purdy, and Jean Cochrane; uncles, Dick Moore, David Moore (Cindy), and previously deceased aunt, Maureen Moore and uncle, Paul Jardine (Sandy). He will be lovingly remembered by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Jerry maintained close and special friendships with Brenda Jardine, Jim Dickson, Wilda Greene, John and Nancy Baird. He valued all of his friends and though he did not see them all often enough, they were always in his thoughts.
Jerry was a founding member of the Marysville Y’s Men having served many roles including President. He coached minor baseball for many years, and loved the time he spent with his son and other players.
Jerry worked at Capital Co-op, Evan’s Esso, Elm City Chrysler, Sunbury Transport, Midland Transport and Waybren among others. He enjoyed his customers and made many friends during his travels.
One of Jerry’s biggest passions was driving heavy equipment; he was like a big boy with a new toy when he was working in one of these monsters.
Along with a huge heart, Jerry’s sense of humour was his greatest asset.
A Celebration of Remembrance will be held at the Marysville Heritage Center on Saturday, August 1, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The family would like to hear your stories and memories of Jerry. A Private Interment will take place at another time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabtes Association.
Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
