Bob was born in Wawanesa, Manitoba and passed away peacefully on August 30 at Sechelt Hospital on the Sunshine Coast. Predeceased by his first wife Barbara Helen Boake; daughter Donna Susan Larson; and son-in-law Richard Jang. Bob is survived by his second wife, Louise Boake (nee Dignard); daughters Linda Louise Jang and Barbie Whitworth (Shay Moudahi); son-in-law Doug Whitworth; grandchildren Robert Jang, Kenneth Jang, James Jang, Connor Whitworth and William Sanderson; great-grandchildren Jessica, Tyler, Matteo and Gabriel; and extended family.
As a young man, Bob moved with his family to the Abbotsford Valley. He later apprenticed and became a competent machinist before joining the Vancouver Police Department. After the birth of his first daughter, Bob joined Met Life and worked his way up the ranks, becoming a Regional District Manager. Bob and his first wife Barbara moved to the Sunshine Coast to retire.
Bob loved to garden, travel and read in his extensive library. Bob was known as a generous man and a great lover of animals, especially his many dogs. He also served on the Sunshine Coast SPCA. We will greatly miss his adventurous spirit and family dedication.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Living Faith Lutheran Church in Davis Bay on Saturday, September 5 at 11:30 a.m. Everyone who knew and loved Bob is welcome.
