It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gene (Horace) Sheppard announce his passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Monday, November 30, 2015 at the age of 66 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories, his sister Karen Quinlan (Dennis); brother Ivan Sheppard (Tracey); special sister-in-law Irma Sheppard; nieces: Nyle Sheppard (Willie), Michelle Critch (Sheldon), and Kathy Quinlan; nephew Mark Sheppard; great-nieces: Kelsey Shearing, Kayte Shearing, Addison Menchenton, and Emma Jane Critch; great-nephew Johnathon Sheppard, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Aubrey and Kitty Sheppard. Friends may visit St. Nicholas' Anglican Church in Cox's Cove on Tuesday between the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., from where the funeral service will take place on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 2 p.m. with Reverend Charlene Laing officiating. The interment will follow from the Anglican Church Cemetery. The family would like to thank Dr. Griffin, Gene's caregivers, and the staff at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Home for their care and compassion over the years. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road.
