Date de décès : 24 août 2016

ANGELA ANNETTE FUNKE (née BOIRE)
With her family gathered in prayer by her side, Angela was called home to the Father's house on Wednesday, August 24th, 2016. Angela will be sadly missed by her husband of 62 years, Alfred; children: Cheryl (Dennis) Ludwar, Greg (Helga), Sandra (Michael) Morris, and Donald (Tammy); 15 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; as well as sisters, a brother, sisters-in-law, brothers-in law, many nieces and nephews, and countless friends, including her Caleb family. Born in Lampman, SK on April 21st, 1935 to Arthur and Anna Boire, Angela left the family home at the young age of 14 to attend high school at Forget, SK. She then moved to Moose Jaw to work at the Bank of Montreal. It was in Moose Jaw that she met the love of her life, Alfred. Together, Angela and Alfred farmed for many years, a feat she was very proud of, taking meals out to the field and sitting on the combine while Alfred had his supper, raising cattle, chickens and pigs, along with a huge garden. She was a meticulous book keeper and even their accountant would marvel at her attention to detail. Angela lived her life as a woman of faith even until the end, waiting for all of her children to be in the room praying the rosary and waiting until the last prayer to join her loving Father. She had a great love of travelling and the last two trips she took connected that love and her faith life, traveling to Rome and the Holy Land in 2009 and Medjugorje in April 2013, even joking that she fell three times climbing the hill (just like Jesus). Angela worked endlessly for life and spent countless hours working for the Moose Jaw Right to Life, including standing out in the cold for hours for the "40 Days for Life". She served for almost 60 years on the CWL, taking on the ministry of funeral lunches at Church of Our Lady for 13 years and volunteered at Chateau St. Michael for Sunday Eucharist. She loved spending time with each of her grandchildren and they all have fond memories of trips to the mall and McDonald's. She made a point of sharing her love of gardening and baking with them. As a young woman, she developed a love for softball and played well into her 50's. She also coached for many years and traveled all over watching her kids play the sport. Curling was another sport she enjoyed, playing on several teams until the winter of 2012/13. She was an avid spectator, watching all the different bonspiels on TV including reruns. She belonged to Curves and walked everywhere. One of her favorite mottos was "I'd rather wear out then rust out", and she was well on her way to that until she was diagnosed with Osteoperosis in July 2013. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 29th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Church of Our Lady, 566 Vaughan St, Moose Jaw, SK. Father Jake Ibay and Father Carlos Jimenez SVD will con-celebrate and interment will take place in Claybank Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held on Sunday, August 28th, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Church of Our Lady. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Angela’s favorite charity, Moose Jaw Right to Life, Box 1863, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7N6. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. James Murdock, Funeral Director 306-693-4550 www.moosejawfuneralhome.com
