It is with great sadness that the family of the late Elsie E. Hewitt (nee Stowe) announce her peaceful passing on Friday, September 30, 2016 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Facility at the age of 89 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her cherished husband of 69 years Clyde Hewitt; loving daughters: Carol (Arthur) Griffin, Glynis (Alan) MacGibbon and Diane (Dwight) Howse; precious grandchildren: Liam (Ara), Neala, Jill (Ryan), Beth, Sarah, Jonathan and Neil; great-grandchildren: Milo and Sasha; sister Evangeline Pollett; sister-in-law Grace Butler; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her daughter Margaret Hewitt-Barney, parents Robert and Sarah Stowe, brothers Robert and Randolph Stowe, sister Gertrude Noseworthy. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue on Monday from the hour of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Temple, O'Connell Drive with Captain Cory and Pamela Pinksen officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
