DAVID FREDERICK TWEEDIE

TWEEDIE, DAVID FREDERICK (1937-2005) Now I lay me down to sleep....On Tuesday, October 11, 2005, following a brief but aggressive illness, at his home, with his family at his side, David slipped into the life hereafter. He is survived by wife Paula (Port Hope); sons Jacques Barry (Lynn) of Petawawa, ON and Christopher Lawrence of Brampton, ON; daughter Astrid Fleur of Montreal, QC; granddaughter Jennifer Elizabeth of Petawawa; his brother Robert Allison (Judith) of Dana Point, CA; their children Scott and Cristin; and his mother Marjorie Tweedie of Fredericton, NB. He was predeceased in 1990 by his well-known father (in NB) Robert Allison Tweedie. David is remembered by his family and close friends as one who has been passionate about gardens, food, wine, cats and his adopted town of Port Hope, ON where Paula and he had spent eleven years in happy retirement. When illness struck, he was preparing to travel again. Born and raised in Fredericton, David graduated from the University of New Brunswick. He made his career in secondary education, first, in Lennoxville, PQ and, then, for thirty-two years, in several secondary schools of the Toronto Board of Education. The family thank the V.O.N. nurses for their care and counsel (Gwen and Annette: We thank you with all our heart); and Doctors Paul Hazell (Port Hope), Roger Woodward (Cobourg), Michael Hiscox, Jeannie Choy and Paul Greig (Toronto) for their assessments and treatments. I pray the Lord my soul to take. Private arrangements.
