It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Karen Jean Hjelte. Karen passed away peacefully on July 1, 2008 at her home just north of Moose Jaw. Karen was born in Moose Jaw on January 18, 1951. She was predeceased by her father, Milton Crosbie; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law Ed and Pat Hjelte. Karen is survived by her husband of 29 years, Lynn; son Blaine; mother Edith Crosbie; sister Geri (Dennis) Ball and their family; Merridy (Darren) Most and their children, William, and Ashton; Jason (Trina) Ball and their children, Justin and Shane; and Leslie Ball; sister-in-law Linda (Vern) Oconnell and their family: Corrine (Joe) Klyne and their son, Riley; Dan Oconnell; James (Kate) Oconnell and their children, Tristan and Adam; Kathy Oconnell; sister-in-law Elizabeth (Andy) Mitchell and their family; Danny Mitchell, Robert (Teresa) Mitchell and their children, Anekah, Christopher, Candice, Colin, Michelle; grandchildren Jordyn, Isabella and Cameron; Susan (Dale) Freemonte and their children, Madison, Amanda, and Ryley; Peter Mitchell and his children, Melanie, Jessie and Cameron; Debbie (Peter) Mitchell and their children Joel, James and Kershaw; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. The Funeral Service will be held at W.J. Jones & Son Chapel on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at 1:30 pm. Della Ferguson will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
