
ANTHONY "TONY" COADY
COADY, ANTHONY "TONY" Surrounded by his loving family Anthony "Tony" Coady, passed away at home on Friday July 11, 2008 at 10:00 p.m. Born on July 15, 1934 in Bar Haven Newfoundland, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Byrne) Tony was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. A loyal follower of Christ all his life, he was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus. Tony is survived by the love of his life for 51 years wife Alice, and children Tony (Ann Marie), Debbie Northrup (Mark), Bernadine Porter (Kevin), Michael (Dixi), Roxanne Cameron (Brad), John (Kerrie) and Mary Coady; grandchildren Matthew, Zachary, Tyler, Nicholas, Gregory, Evan, Patrick, Jamie, Drew, and Coady; brother Mike, and sisters Addie and Mary. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by infant son Joseph, infant brother Stephen, and brothers Thomas, and Patrick. Tony was a firefighter with Transport Canada, and advanced to the level of Atlantic Regional Supervisor prior to his retirement in 1991. Over the years, he enjoyed woodworking, and when he retired, turned his hobby into a business - Tony's Woodworking. He and Alice could be seen at the Boyce Farmers Market on Saturday morning selling his designs. He was an enthusiastic fan of his grandchildren's activities, and spent many hours in the hockey rink watching them play. The family will receive visitors at his home at 979 Forest Hill Road in Fredericton on Monday, July 14th from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. A celebration of Tony's life will take place on Tuesday, July 15th at 12:05 pm at St. Dunstan's Catholic Church, Brunswick Street Fredericton N.B. A reception will follow at the family home located at 979 Forest Hill Road Fredericton.
