AVIA MARY BARTON

BARTON, AVIA MARY - 1932-2004. Avia M. Barton, beloved wife of 46 years to Paschal A. Barton, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2004 at the Carleton-Kirk Nursing Home. Born in Saint John, she is the daughter of the late Peter and Edith (Woodfield) Walsh. Avia was a life long member of Portland United Church and was very active in the Jeannette Ball Unit of the U.C.W. Her family was her passion and Avia's 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild were the light of her life. In addition to her loving husband, and her grandchildren, she is also survived by her sons Allan Barton, Royce (Kathleen) Barton, Tim (Tina) Barton, all of Saint John, NB, and Keith (Kathy) Barton of Baxter Corner, NB; daughters Kimberley (Paul Barnes) Barton, Kathryn (Geoff) Gibbons, and Karen (Jeff Cox) Barton, all of Saint John, NB; brother Fred (Marjorie) Walsh, Saint John, NB; sister Marie Edmunston, Hamilton, ON., several nieces and nephews and cousins and her special little canine companion "Bingo". Along with her parents, Avia was predeceased by her infant daughter Shelly Pauline, her brothers William, Charles, James, John, and Maurice; and her sisters Alice, Edith, and Evelyn. Arrangements entrusted to Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave., (634-1701) with visiting on Monday 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 27, 2004 from Portland United Church at 11 am with Rev. Gail Rhyno officiating. Reception immediately following the service in the church hall. Interment at a later date in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Donations in Avia's memory made to the charity of donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
