HOWLAND, GERALD "GERRY" HERBERT - The death of Gerald Herbert Howland of Saint John, NB, occurred on Monday, March 31, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on April 2, 1953, he was a son of the late Robert Evan and Loretta Marguerite (Godwin) Howland. Gerry had been employed with Willett Fruit, Thornes and more recently with Midland Transport. He enjoyed his neighbours and neighbourhood in the north end and especially liked woodworking, making canes, miniature furniture and jewellery. Survived by three brothers, Robert (Maxine) Howland of Cold Lake, AB, Eric (Wendy) Howland and Jack (Kathy) Howland, both of Port Alberni, BC; three sisters, Jean (Laurie) Bates of Long Point, NB, June (Ed) Savard of Port Alberni, BC and Ruth Perry of Saint John; two aunts, Ruth Peters, Head of St. Margarets Bay, NS and Helen (Gerald) Burke of Saint John; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Thursday from 6 to 9 pm. Memorial Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Friday, April 4, 2008 at 1 pm. Interment will be in Fernhill Cemetery.
