CRAIG, SHERMAN DALE - June 5, 1951 - September 17, 2009 It is with the deepest sorrow that we say goodbye to our husband, father and grandfather, Sherman Dale Craig. Sherman passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2009. Sherman lived in Bedford, Nova Scotia with his wife Judith and was enjoying the best from his retirement years. Sherman was born in Blacks Harbour, New Brunswick and raised in Bonny River, Charlotte County, New Brunswick. Survived by his parents, Pauline and Berton Craig; brothers, Sheldon Craig, Merlin and wife, Nila Craig, David and wife, Cindy Craig and Eric Craig; nieces, Amanda Craig, Gayle Craig and Jessica Ross; nephew, Jeffrey Craig; his grandmother, Phyllis Buchanan; mother-in-law, Jean Stevens; sister-in-law, Jennifer Stevens-Ross; brother-in-law, David Stevens; and many other aunts, uncles and cousins. Sherman attended the RCMP Training Academy in 1970 in Regina, Saskatchewan and went on to have a long and successful career. He was posted in Amherst, Antigonish, Meteghan, New Minas, Yarmouth and Halifax and retired as Sergeant in 2006 after 35 years. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Judith (nee Stevens); daughters, Charmaine (Craig) McAdoo and Natalie (Craig) Van Dusen; son in laws, Tyler McAdoo and Elliott Van Dusen; grandchildren, MacKenzie and Liam McAdoo; and two faithful dogs, Mick and Max. Sherman, during his retirement was enjoying life. He loved time spent with his wife and family, travelling, fishing, boating, canoeing and spending time at the cottage. Sherman could often be found at the McAdoo farm training his mini horses, King and Champ, adding chickens to the coops and simply being the most amazing Grampie Craig to MacKenzie and Liam. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009 from 7 to 9 pm at the Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, September 24th, 2009 at 2 pm at the Bedford Baptist Church, 38 Rocky Lake Drive, Bedford, Nova Scotia. Sherman won the last scrabble game at the cottage and Dad, may you find another big game to play somewhere.
