It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and mother-in-law, Jessie Florence Wilson on Tuesday, March 2, 2010.
Born in Louisbourg, she was the daughter of the late William Hanham and Sarah (MacDonald) Hanham Bryan.
Jessie was very devoted to her family and loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She was an active and dedicated member of First United Church, Louisbourg, and over the years was very involved with the Louisbourg Home and School Association and the Girl Guides of Canada.
She is survived by her daughter, Caroline (Calvin) Pitcher, Louisbourg; daughter-in-law, Colleen Wilson, Lower Sackville, N.S.; grandchildren, Karen (Jimmy), Lower Sackville, N.S., Alan (Amy), Ottawa, Ont., Melanie (Lee), Burnt Cove, Nfld., and Jennifer (Josh), Vancouver, B.C.; brothers, Florian (Marlene), Charlottetown, P.E.I., and Bill (Wendy), Albert Bridge; sister-in-law, Mabel Hanham, Louisbourg; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Jessie was predeceased by her husband, Harold, son, Harold William, sister, Wilhelmine, brother, Daniel and stepfather, Alex Bryan.
Visitation for the late Jessie Wilson will be held at First United Church, Louisbourg, Thursday, March 4, 2010, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will take place Friday, 2 p.m. at First United Church, Louisbourg, with Rev. Matthew Fillier officiating. Interment in Willow Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to First United Church, Louisbourg, Willow Grove Cemetery or to a charity of one’s choice.
