Harvey Vincent Estabrooks

Born In: Salisbury, New Brunswick, Canada

Passed on: February 9th, 2010

Early Tuesday morning, February 9, 2010 our beloved brother and uncle, Vince passed away at the age of 82 years. He is lovingly remembered by his three sisters; Merle Robertson, Beulah Eagles both of Kelowna, British Columbia and Glenna Alexander of St. John, New Brunswick, as well as many nieces and nephews. Vincent was born and raised in Salisbury, New Brunswick, the only boy in a family of six sisters. His father, Harvey, ran a lumber operation, in which Vince became very involved. He later became a builder/contractor in the Salisbury/Moncton area. During these years, after the passing of his Dad, Vince lovingly cared for his mother, Lena, who became blind in the later years of her life. Wishing to reunite mother with her three daughters that had moved west, before she could no longer travel, they moved to the Vancouver area in 1979. Vince continued his carpentry profession in the Lower Mainland, later retiring to the Okanagan Valley where he spent the remainder of his life. From an early age, Vince loved singing and performing old time country and gospel ballads. In his later years, he established the OK Valley Singers with his sisters, Merle and Beulah, playing his guitar for seniors' groups and family gatherings. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of Vince's life was held on Friday, February 12, 2010 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the home of Vince's sister Beulah in Glenmeadows, #42-615 Glenmeadows Road, Kelowna, British Columbia.
