Hodges, Harold - 78, Springhill, passed away Monday, March 1, 2010 in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late George and Ida (McMasters) Hodges. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing and gardening. Harold was known for his storytelling around the fire. He will be very missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, the former Janis Orlik; son, David (Lucy Burbine); daughter, Karla (Gary) Milton; daughter-in-law, Terri; sister, Bev (Carl) Ross, all of Springhill; grandchildren, Mark (Hiba) Hodges, David (Pamela) Hodges, Kasha (Katlyn Stevens) Milton and Danny (Rhonda) Weatherbee; seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Malcolm. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of MacDiarmid's Funeral Home, 5075 Main Street, Oxford (447-2930). As per Harold's wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Donations may be made to a charity of choice.
