The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, of Desmond “Desi †Sherry, of Sunshine Trailer Park, Summerside, aged 69 years. Born in Fernwood, he was the son of the late Arthur and Mary (Rooney) Sherry. Survived by children Anita (Gordon) Nicholson, Chelton ; Lawrence “Larry†Sherry, Summerside; Michelle Sherry-Brooks (Chris Brooks), Bridgewater, N.S.; grandchildren Christina Nicholson,Manitoba; Taunya Nicholson, Halifax, N.S.; Ryan Nicholson, Chelton; Alicia Gallant, Charlottetown; Colby Brooks, Bridgewater, N.S.; great-granddaughter Skylar; special friend Muriel Thompson and her children Carol (Al) Delaney, Errol Thompson, Sandra Thompson and Lonnie (Laurie) Thompson; grandchildren Kilby and Jilian Delaney, Lisa, K.K., Aaron and Micaela Thompson and great-granddaughter Jorja Rae Thompson; his brothers and sisters Fr. Gerald Sherry, Scarborough, ON; Wally (Gail), Winnipeg, MN; Eileen (George) Smith, Summerside; Joan Mulligan, Kinkora; Betty (Don) Hickox, Charlottetown; Doreen (Clair) Mulligan, Summerside; sister-in-law Norma Sherry, Kinkora; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Eva (Perry) Sherry; son Duane Joseph Sherry; brother Aden Sherry and brother-in-law Lowell Mulligan. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Monday, then to St. Paul’s Church, Summerside, for funeral mass at 2 p.m. Interment will take place later in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Summerside. Visiting hours Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
