“Morty, as we all referred to him with great affection, was an incredibly self-less man. He sacifriced many hours of her personal time coaching us, parenting us, and driving us around the province and beyond to volleyball games and tournaments. He was more than a coach; he was a father figure for many of us. He will always have a special place in my memory. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. ”
“Our heartfelt thoughts to you and your family.”
“My sincere condolences to Mrs. Morton and family. I played bball for Coach Morton at HTHS from \'74-\'77 and appreciated his dedication and commitment to coaching and teaching. Coach was a great motivator and even though we never won a provincial title, we played hard and had lots of fun. And that is what high school sports should be all about. My thoughts and prayers are with Coach and his family.”
“Dear Carol,
Am so sorry to hear of the passing of Don. I\'m sorry I can\'t be at Don\'s Celebration of his Life, I\'m wintering in Myrtle Beach.
I recall on one of our many basketball trips some 20 years ago Don said to me, \"Do you remember who I am\"? and I said I didn\'t. Well Don told me about the basketball and football games we played against each other in high school. Which I couldn\'t recall.
In only Don\'s way he told how the guys on his team really had a dislike for me and my team. We had a great time talking about the Good Old Days many times, which we both enjoyed.
Don was such a GREAT MAN, I had so much respect for him. I look back on the many refereeing trips we\'ve taken over the past years and have so many fond memories.
I\'ll miss Don as I\'m sure all the guys in the basketball fraternity.
God Bless,
Ron Duguay”
