Léger, Florence - of Shediac, passed away peacefully at the Villa Providence Home on Friday, March 12, 2010. She was predeceased by her husband Stanislas in 1995. Born in College Bridge, on July 1, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Cyrille and Rosalie LeBlanc (née Mills). She and her late husband lived in Toronto for over 30 years and raised their daughters there. After his retirement, they spent fifteen winters in Florida before returning to live full-time in Shediac in 1992. A loving mother, Florence devoted herself to her daughters. She loved to sing, and played a mean boogie woogie on the piano. She lived her life with the heart of a child. She is survived by her three daughters: Francine (John Belbin) of Hantsport, NS, Cyrilla (Jim Leonard) of Dartmouth, NS and Jacinthe (Kim Toppin) of Barbados; six grandchildren: Marc (Ashley Ross), David (Teva Harrison), and Douglas (Jillian Reeves) Leonard; Ginette ( James Pitcher) and Ryan (Sarah MacKinnon) Belbin and three great grandchildren: Riley and Ryder Leonard; and Leaha Pitcher. She is also survived by one sister, Catherine Arsenault of Mississauga, ON and one brother Gérard LeBlanc of Bouctouche. Other than her husband, she was also predeceased by seven sisters: Marie, Laura, Arzélie, Ella, Rose, Dorilla, and Yvonne; and two brothers: Emile and Edouard. Her family would like to thank the staff of the Villa Providence for the loving care they provided. We are truly grateful.
Visitation at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297) on Wednesday, from 2 to 4p.m. and 7 to 9p.m. and Thursday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of departure. Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Shediac. Interment in the parish cemetery in the spring.
