REARDON, Anna (Madden) – Surrounded by her loving family, Anna (Madden) Reardon, aged 93, passed peacefully into the presence of God on Thursday, March 11, 2010, at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home. Predeceased by her infant son, Joseph. Leaving to cherish many loving memories are her devoted husband of 60 years, Ronald Reardon; her children and their families Noreen Grace (Gillian, David, Catherine, Tara; and their father John); Teresa and Edward Donovan (Nicola, Lisa and Denise); Korona and Bill Brophy (Anna, Laura and Peter); Rhonda and Randy Ivany (Melissa and Mark); and Terry and Bernice Reardon (Liam and Alanna); her sister-in-law, Sr. Mary Corona, R.S.M., her brother-in-law, Greg Reardon and family (Tilting); and her sister-in-law, Mary Clarke (St. Patrick’s Mercy Home); as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and friends. Anna’s career as a teacher started at the age of 15 in Maddox Cove and concluded at St. Pat’s Hall School in St. John’s in 1976. She passed a legacy of music to her children, especially in piano, accordion, fiddle and singing. She was a gifted craftsperson, and volunteered a great deal of her time to St. Peter’s Parish in Mount Pearl. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, on Friday, March 12 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm, Saturday from 10am-4pm and 7-9pm and Sunday from 10am-4pm and 7-9pm. The funeral will take place on Monday, March 15 at 10:30 am at St. Peter’s Parish, Ashford Drive, Mount Pearl. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers are welcome, or donations may be made to St. Patrick’s Mercy Home Foundation in Anna’s memory. Special thanks to the Sisters of Mercy, and the administration, recreation coordinators and 3rd floor staff of St. Patrick’s Mercy Home for their unfailing care and compassion.
