Jennie Isabel Bavis passed away peacefully at the Nashwaak Villa, Stanley, N.B. on Monday, March 15, 2010, in her 103rd year. She was the daughter of the late Bertram and Mary (Dorcas) Bavis of Cross Creek, N.B. Jennie was a registered Nurse; a graduate of the St. Stephen Hospital. She spent most of her nursing carrer working in Cleveland, Ohio and after retirement returned to Fredericton, N.B. Jennie was a life long lover of animals and a strong supporter of the SPCA. She was a avid sports fan and particularly enjoyed watching baseball and hockey. Jennie was also an excellent cook and served many festive meals for family and friends.
Jennie is survived by one sister Annie Dorcas of Fredericton and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Elsie Hudson of Bathurst, Helen Malzan of Toronto, Mabel Flynn of Fredericton and Hazel Neil of North Bay, Ontario; and brother Harry of Cross Creek, Albert of Moncton as well as an infant brother Bertie.
Bishops Funeral Home of 540 Woodstock Rd. have been entrusted with arrangements. Respecting Jennie's wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. The family would like to especially thank the staff of Windsor Court (1999 to 2006) and the Nashwaak Villa (2007 to 2010) for their excellent care and companionship.
