1934 - 2010 - Ruth Christianne Mitchell, 75, of Riverview, passed away on Monday, March 15th, 2010 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Sussex, October 18th, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Alexander D. and Mildred O. (Manning) Alston. Ruth was a member of the Eastern Star and St. John’s United Church, active in the UCW as Unit Leader and Treasurer for many years. Ruth is survived by her sons Peter of Halifax and Jeff (Anne) of Boston, granddaughter Lauren, grandson Grant, sisters Marguerite (Donald) March of Riverview, Joan (Lynn) Branscombe of Sussex, brother Robert (Sandra) Alston of Newtown, NB, sister-in-law Ruth (James) Churchill of St. John’s, Nfld, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Donald B. Mitchell in 2005.
There will be no visitation prior to the funeral service to be held at St. John’s United Church, 75 Alma Street, Moncton on Saturday, March 20th 2010, at 2:00 pm, Reverend Aaron Billard presiding. A reception will follow the service in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John’s United Church, or The Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care Unit).
