The death of Hector J. Gautreau occurred at Ridgewood Veterans\' Wing on Wednesday, March 17, 2010. Hector was born in Pre-du-Haut, N.B., a son of the late Capt. William and Angele (Boudreau) Gautreau. He had lived the greater part of his life in Saint John where he had been a member of the International Longshoremen\'s Association Local 273. He had served with the Merchant Marine during the Second World War. He was a former member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 2; the Saint John Power Boat Club; and R.A.O.B. Lodge 46. He is survived by one sister, Rita Gautreau of Shediac.; and several nieces and nephews.
Resting at Fitzpatrick\'s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Monday afternoon at 12:05. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. www.fitzpatrickfh.com
