It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Carl Angus MacQueen.
Carl passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, with his family by his side.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of Mrs. Emily (Walsh) MacQueen and the late Carl ‘Blackie’ MacQueen.
He is survived by his wife, Carol (MacIsaac); sons, Carl (Kelly), Timberlea, and Joey, at home; brother, Barry, Edmonton; sisters, Glenda (Vince MacKinnon) and Nancy (Lawrence MacLean), Sydney; mother and father-in-law, Buddy and Jennie MacIsaac, Sydney Forks; brother-in-law, Ken MacIsaac, Howie Centre; sister in-law, Diane (Ken) MacDonald, Sydney; several nieces and nephews; and his closest friend, Curt.
Carl was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Lucina (Dunn) and John Walsh and paternal grandparents, Angus and Sady (Spears) MacQueen.
He was employed for 28 years at Devco until its closure, primarily at the Coal Prep Plant and the International Coal Piers. In later years, he worked for Kelly Services doing marine work for Imperial Oil.
He had several hobbies including photography and music. He had an incredible knowledge for all genres of music and was a constant source of information.
Cremation has taken place. A visitation will take place 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 23, 2010, one hour prior to the service. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, with Fr. Frank Abbass officiating.
Donations in Carl’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the SPCA.

He rang my phone about a month and a half ago and I completely forgot to get back to him...only rememberind today when I heard of his passing.
