1922 - 2010 - Berthe Richard, 87, of Saint-Antoine passed away peacefully at the Dr Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton on Wednesday March 24th, 2010. She was married to the late Aquila Richard (2005). Born in Saint-Antoine de Kent on November 4th, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Amédée and the late Eugénie (Richard) Robichaud. She will be remembered as a person who loved life and always had a welcoming smile. She spent many long hours hand quilting blankets which was her hobby for many years. Needless to say, that her children and grandchildren greatly benefited from her many hours of labour. Also, those who knew her well will remember the little song she loved to sing. Berthe will be sadly miss by her children, Carmen Richard of Rochester, NY, Clermont (Annette) of Richiboucto, Ginette Huston (Jack) of Scottsdale, Arizona, Gilberte (Gibby) LeBlanc (Paul) of Dieppe, Monique LeBlanc (Maurice) also of Dieppe. Her brothers Joseph and Roger, her sisters Irène, Rita, and Antonine; nine grandchildren, Karen, Robin, Chantal, Maurice, Renelle, Kristian, Stéphanie, Justin and Grégoire; twelve great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by one grandson Gregory, and four brothers, Émile, Zenon, Yvon and Louis, former Premier of N.B.
Visitation will be held at the Saint-Antoine L’Ermite Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Saint-Antoine on Sunday March 28th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and on Monday from 9:30 to 10:45 am. Funeral Mass will be held at the Saint-Antoine Church on Monday March 29th, 2010 at 11:00 am. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in the spring. In Berthe’s memory donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society. Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Maillet Funeral Home, Bouctouche.www.mailletfuneralhome.ca
