The passing of Alma Rae Laura “Dood” (Lyons) Wallace, wife of the late William John Wallace, formerly of Ludlow, NB, occurred on March 28, 2010 at the Central NB Nursing Home. Born on September 19, 1916 in Carroll’s Crossing, she was a daughter of the late William Hazen and Frances Enid (Doak) Lyons. Alma was a member of St. Joachim’s Roman Catholic Church, Boiestown, the Ladies Auxiliary Legion Branch # 4, Fredericton and a member of Evelyn Grove Seniors Club. She is survived by her daughters, Donna Belliveau (Edward) of St. Stephen, Debby Fowler (Owen) of Marysville and Patricia “Trish” Hovey (Ronnie) of Beaver Dam; eight grandchildren, Anne Legere (Yves), Elaine Harpell (Scott), Michael Belliveau, Marty Fowler, Susan Fowler, Carla Hovey Cail (Mark), Tara (Matt) and Shelly Hovey; 11 great grandchildren, Jordan, Laura, Branne, Molly, Brooklyn and Lauryn Fowler, Emma Kitchen, Janelle Cail, Codie and Liam Harpell and Nicholas Legere; sister-in-law, Mary Lyons of Doaktown; brothers-in-law, Lou Wallace of Florida and Frank Wallace of Vancouver. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Venus; brothers, Nelson, Albert and Calvin Lyons.
Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held from St. Joachim’s Roman Catholic Church, Boiestown on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 2 pm with Father Jacques R. Landry officiating. Interment will take place at the church cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to Central NB Nursing Home or the St. Joachim’s Roman Catholic Church would be appreciated by the family.
